• SkyArena Sports Complex boasts 20 state-of-the-art facilities to promote a healthy lifestyle and social activity for the local community
18 Sept 2018 (Kuala Lumpur) – YB Tuan Haji Khalid Bin Abd. Samad, Minister of Territories has paid a courtesy visit to SkyArena Sports Complex at Setapak. The Minister was accompanied by YB Tuan Nik Nazmi Bin Nik Ahmad, MP of Setiawangsa, YBhg Datuk Seri Adnan Bin Haji Md Ikshan, Chief Secretary of Territories, YBhg Datuk Sr. Haji Mohd Najib Bin Haji Mohd, Executive Director (Project Management) and Representatives from KWP and DBKL. The site visit was initiated and led by SkyWorld’s Founder & Group Managing Director, Datuk Ng Thien Phing together with its Chief Operation Officer, Mr Lee Chee Seng. According to Datuk Ng, SkyArena Sports Complex is poised to be the city’s largest, multi-level and multi-function sports complex. This first-of-its-kind sports complex houses 20 types of facilities such as indoor rock climbing, Olympic-sized swimming pool, diving pool, badminton courts, football field with running track, gym and fitness centre, squash courts, hostel and etc.
Ng shared, “SkyArena Sports Complex has won 2 prestigious Regional awards ‘Public Service Architecture’ and ‘Public Service Development’ during the Asia Pacific Property Awards (APPA) ceremony held in Bangkok this year. We were truly overjoyed when this project was awarded 5- Star for Best Public Service Architecture in Malaysia and we will be competing in the overall International Awards in London end of this year to determine the world’s finest property. These recognitions have proven that our dynamic SkyWorld team has put fourth a tremendous amount of time and effort to make SkyArena Sports Complex a world class multi-storey sports complex in Kuala Lumpur. Kudos to the team!”
Speaking at the site, YB Tuan Khalid Samad said, “I am very happy to see the progress and the construction workmanship of the sports complex. Well done, SkyWorld! Ng added this sports complex is designed to look more dynamic and attractively stylish and will complete with eco-friendly elements that reduces energy use to lower the maintenance cost.
