THE Ministry of Finance (MoF) yesterday appointed Datuk Mohamed Hazlan Mohamed Hussain (picture) as the president and CEO for the Prasarana Malaysia Bhd group.
In a statement yesterday, it was noted that he will be responsible for setting a new direction for the group to increase the company’s operations in the public transportation sector.
Mohamed Hazlan will also be responsible for restructuring the company, alongside the MoF and Ministry of Transportation to record a more efficient and sustainable group financing.
Last year, Prasarana recorded a loss of RM2.47 billion, while posting a revenue of RM846 million.
The position was previously held by Masnizam Hisham for eight months after succeeding Datuk Seri Azmi Abdul Aziz at the public transportation assets owner and operator.
Meanwhile, SME Bank has made Aria Putera Ismail, previously the president director and CEO of PT Bank Maybank Syariah Indonesia (MSI) as its new CEO effective yesterday.
Aria was responsible for the re-strategising MSI’s Shariah banking plan, which included talent development, product innovation as well as new markets.
He also held the Maybank Islamic Bhd global markets Islamic director position, where he managed and over saw the group’s global Islamic treasury operations and develop product offerings, alongside treasury capabilities’ strategies, the lender’s press release yesterday noted.
Prior to that, he was Hong Leong Islamic Bank global markets Islamic GM and assisted the group in launching its first Islamic banking window in 2008.
