In addition, Smartsel said the partnership will include other enhancements such as the expansion and development of techno- logy to support the existing and new services such as broadband and public WiFi services to rural areas.
“Smartsel is a coordinated effort to make Selangor the Premier Smart State in Asean by 2025.
“Selangor strives to be a dynamic and vibrant regional state that aims to improve the quality of life of its citizens with people-centric solutions,” the statement read.
On Aug 30, Mohamad Suhaimi said there will be about 4,000 Internet “hotspot” areas available in Selangor by the end of the year, which is currently recorded at 3,600.
He also said the additional “hotspot” areas will allow the Internet coverage in Selangor to handle more users as a single “hotspot” has a limit for 30 users at a time.
