Taliworks Corp Bhd’s unit Sungai Harmoni Sdn Bhd, and Gamuda Bhd’s subsidiary Gamuda Water Sdn Bhd have respectively accepted the offers from Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Air Selangor) to remain as operators and undertake maintenance works for two facilities as part of Air Selangor deal to buy Syarikat Pengeluar Air Sungai Selangor Sdn Bhd (Splash).
In order to facilitate the Selangor state government’s conclusion of the water restructuring exercise, both Sungai Harmoni and Gamuda Water have received a similar offer from Air Selangor to terminate their existing agreements relting to the Sungai Selangor Water Treatment Plant Phase 1 (SSP1) and the SSP3 respectively.
The two parties will enter into a new operations and maintenance agreement (OMA) with Air Selangor on the SSP1 and SSP3.
Taliworks, in a filing to Bursa Malaysia yesterday, said Sungai Harmoni expects to finalise the terms and conditions for the termination and settlement agreement, as well as the new SSP1 OMA with Air Selangor.
Gamuda, in a separate filing, said its 80%-owned subsidiary has accepted Air Selangor’s offer and will make the necessary announcement upon the finalisation and execution of the termination and settlement agreement, along with the new SSP3 OMA.
On Aug 21, Air Selangor extended an offer to pay 90% of the total outstanding fee owed by Splash to Sungai Harmoni and Gamuda Water under the SSP1 OMA and SSP3 OMA respectively. — TMR
