D24 durians from Planters’ Haven West and East have been ranked as the best D24 durians in the country.

The D24 durians that ranked first and second in the Best D24 at the “World Durian Championship 2018: Malaysia Edition” last weekend were from 99.55ha of an orchard land owned by Sime Darby Property Bhd.

Sime Darby Property GM Mohamad Jalani Mohamad Said said Planters’ Haven’s D24 durians edged out rivals from across the country.

“We knew our D24 durians were unique when visitors keep reminding us about it.

“We served them at an event recently and people were still talking about the D24 a week after it was over,” he said in a statement yesterday.

The awards held at Bangi Golf Resort in Kuala Lumpur was organised as a part of a durian festival in which the fruits were judged on criteria such as presentation, taste, texture, colour, aroma and aftertaste.

Mohamad Jalani said the origin of the D24 durians, Planters’ Haven, is a perfect getaway from the city’s hustle and bustle.

“We also have rambutan and pulasan fruit trees planted there alongside durians and plan to plant more fruit trees in the future, making this development one-of-a-kind,” he said.
