KHAZANAH Nasional Bhd has confirmed that nine directors, including its MD Azman Mokhtar and executive chairman Nor Md Yusof, have offered to resign from the board.

According to a brief statement issued by the government’s strategic investment fund, the en masse resignation of the directors is expected to facilitate a smooth and orderly transition under the new Government.

“The current Board have been honoured to serve and feels it appropriate to offer the new Government the discretion and reaffirm the prerogative to form the new Board,” the statement read.

Khazanah is expected to issue a further statement once it has further details on the board’s reconstruction.
