Axiata Digital Advertising Sdn Bhd (ADA) targets to attract five million users for its electronic wallet (e-wallet) application, Boost, by the end of this year.
CEO Mohd Khairil Abdullah (picture) said the mobile application, which could be used for purchasing food to credit transfer, has become the largest local e-wallet player in the country.
“Currently, we have 2.7 million users with 30,000 merchants nationwide. We hope to reach 100,000 merchants by year-end,” he told reporters after the signing of memoranda of understanding (MoUs) between ADA, an indirect wholly owned subsidiary of Axiata Group Bhd, and PUC Bhd in Kuala Lumpur yesterday.
ADA inked an MoU with PUC’s wholly owned subsidiary, RedHot Media Sdn Bhd, while ADA’s subsidiary, Axiata Digital eCode Sdn Bhd, signed with another PUC unit, e-wallet provider EPP Solution Sdn Bhd.
RedHot Media aims to be ADA’s exclusive media agency to provide traditional media buying and planning services, involving RedHot’s clients (advertisers and media partners) in Malaysia, while ADA will be RedHot’s exclusive digital advertising agency.
As for the other MoU, ADA and EPP will explore an inter-operable credit transfer integration, so both Boost and EPP’s Presto Wallet end-users are able to make payments to and receive payments from one another. — Bernama
