PERUSAHAAN Otomobil Kedua Sdn Bhd (Perodua) recently sold 1,000 units of its Bezza and Axia models to a ride-hailing service provider, a step that is expected to open a new market for the automotive company.
Perodua MD Datuk Dr Zahari Husin said the sale is “an important endorsement” for the company as it is a sign that ride-sharing drivers want cars that are economical, but safe.
“The proliferation of ride-hailing and ride-sharing services in Malaysia has revolutionised the way we get around, and Perodua is proud to be a part of this revolution towards more efficient and sustainable transport for all,” he said in statement.
According to Perodua, over 300,000 Axia units have been sold since its launch in 2014, while some 100,000 Bezza units have been purchased since its release in 2016.
“They are both government-certified energy-efficient vehicles and have led their respective vehicle segments since their inception,” the statement read.
