Malayan Banking Bhd (Malaysia) announced  Michael Foong Seong Yew (picture) will take on the role of CEO in international business effective June 1, 2018, in addition to his role as group chief strategy officer.

Foong joined the group as Chief Strategy & Transformation Officer in 2011, and was appointed Group Chief Strategy Officer in 2014. 

He oversaw the transformation programmes for Maybank Hong Kong, Maybank Philippines and Maybank Cambodia from 2014.

The leadership role was taken over from Pollie Sim, who had served Maybank for over thirty years.
