Go Auto Sales Sdn Bhd, the exclusive distributor of Haval vehicles in Malaysia, plans to launch the Haval H9 for the local market in the fourth quarter (4Q) of this year.
The company said it is preparing for the launch of the completely built-up unit H9 in the final quarter of 2018, while the completely knocked-down version is expected to be unveiled at the end of 2Q of 2019.
The premium SUV is currently being showcased at the Malaysia Autoshow 2018 at Malaysia Agro Exposition Park Serdang.
“I must emphasise that this new model is definitely a part of our effort to open this opportunity to Malaysians to own an SUV at a competitive price in this particular segment,” Go Auto Group ED Datuk SM Azli SM Nasimuddin Kamal said in a statement. The H9 model will be priced below RM200,000 and will be available in two variants — Luxury and Ultra with five colours option.
The seven-seater SUV comes with a double variable valve timing engine that produces 160hp and 324Nm torque.
Apart from the H9, the company is also showcasing Haval H8 model at the auto show and another five-seater SUV that the company is considering to bring to Malaysia.
The local distributor of this Chinese brand plans to expand its export market in Myanmar and the Philippines, adding to its current export markets in Cambodia, Brunei and Batam, Indonesia.
The company targets to sell 2,650 units in total volume this year, adding to 4,500 units that had been delivered since its operation from 2014 till 2017.
