The Johor Barisan Nasional (BN) manifesto for the 14th General Election (GE14) is made based on the people’s needs, which among others, is to fulfil and ensure their wellbeing, said Mentri Besar (MB) Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin (picture).

He refuted a claim by the Opposition that the Johor BN Manifesto copied the manifesto produced by the Selangor government.

The Johor BN manifesto was also drawn up to ensure the state will emerge as the country’s new economic power and be able to compete with other countries, including Singapore, he told reporters after the launching the Mersing District Development Initiatives at Jeti Pantai Penyabong, Mersing, yesterday.

Yesterday, Pakatan Harapan claimed that several of the contents in the Johor BN manifesto were similar to initiatives carried out by the Selangor government.

On claims of infighting over BN candidates for GE14, Mohamed Khaled, who is Johor BN chairman, said he read about it on the websites, but would not comment on anything that could not be verified.

However, he said, the list of all the candidates had been submitted to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Najib Razak. — Bernama
