Zainal Izlan appointed as new deputy chief executive for SC

Datuk Zainal Izlan Zainal Abidin has been appointed the new deputy chief executive of the Securities Commission Malaysia (SC) to replace Datuk Ahmad Fairuz Zainal Abidin who was appointed Malaysia’s Judicial Commissioner. Zainal Izlan, 50, joined SC back in January, 2011, as its Islamic capital market ED and was later appointed as the regulatory body’s MD for development and Islamic markets in November, 2016. He served as CEO for i-VCAP Management Sdn Bhd prior to joining the SC. The appointment was made by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Najib Razak in his capacity as the Minister of Finance and is effective today.
