GAMUDA Bhd’s 40%-owned water concessionaire, Syarikat Pengeluar Air Sungai Selangor Sdn Bhd (Splash), has received two third party notices from Sungai Harmoni Sdn Bhd in respect of a suit filed against the latter by Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB).
In a filing to Bursa Malaysia yesterday, Gamuda noted Sungai Harmoni had claimed for outstanding invoices worth RM621.6 million for the production and supply of treated water to the Selangor state government as well as indemnification against TNB claims amounting to RM35.7 million, in addition to interests and costs.
Gamuda added Splash will take steps to defend itself and oppose the two notices by undertaking legal proceedings against Syarikat Bekalan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Syabas) for all outstanding receivables owing by Syabas to Splash.
The notices will not have any significant financial and operational impact on Gamuda for its financial year ended July 31, 2018, as the outstanding invoices have been fully provided as and when they are incurred.
