Some 1,500 electric power supply industry experts are expected to converge in Kuala Lumpur for an international conference in September 2018.
The Conference of the Electric Power Supply Industry (CEPSI) 2018 will discuss topics like megatrends, sustainability, energy trilemma, digitalisation and a smarter future.
This year, Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB) is playing host to the six-day event, making a comeback as a host after the last time it did so on 1996.
The conference-cum-exhibition is held under the patronage of the Association of the Electricity Supply Industry of East Asia and Western Pacific (AESIEAP), an outfit that promotes exchange of expertise and technology between organisations responsible for generation, transmission and distribution of electricity for public use.
At this juncture, CEPSI 2018 is calling for the submission of technical paper abstracts.
“We are accepting abstracts from professionals in the areas of the electricity supply industry,” said TNB chief corporate officer Datuk Roslan Ab Rahman (picture) in a statement.
Roslan, who is also the secretary general for AESIEAP, said selected papers will be presented at the technical sessions of the event.
The sessions are for the sharing of case studies, on-site lessons and experiences, overviews of recent technologies and design strategies, and industry best practices.
The technical paper abstracts involve areas like project financing; technology development; policy formulation; renewable energy; software, system design and analytics; environmental impact assessment; and battery storage.
The papers should fall under any of the eight identified categories — sustainability and green energy; generation and future alternatives; transmission and future grid; distribution and advanced network; smart grid and new technology; ICT (information and communications technology) and innovation; retail and customer service; and business transformation and others.
Details on the categories and guidelines for submitting the abstracts and papers are available at the CEPSI 2018 website at www.cepsi2018kl.org. The deadline for submission of abstracts is April 16.
Registration is now open for individual and group for the 22nd edition of CEPSI 2018 scheduled for Sept 17-22. Those who register by June 25 will enjoy an early bird rate, the statement added. — TMR
