A TOTAL of 1,966 government bodies and government-linked companies have signed the Corruption-Free Pledge with the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) as of Feb 23.
Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Paul Low Seng Kuan, in a written reply to the Dewan Rakyat yesterday, said as of the same period, MACC had received 160,000 applications to become the members of Friends of Anti-Corruption Revolution Movement (GERAH) and 95,104 of them had been approved.
He was replying to a question from Datuk Che Mohamad Zulkifly Jusoh (Setiu-BN) who had wanted to know the latest number of agencies that had signed the pledge and members of GERAH.
Launched in August last year, GERAH aims at providing opportunity for the community to join hands with the MACC in corruption prevention initiatives and combating corruption holistically.
