Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB) has signed two large-scale solar photovoltaic power purchase agreements (PPAs) with two successful bidders, TNB Bukit Selambau Solar Sdn Bhd and RE Gebeng Sdn Bhd.

The energy utility company noted in its exchange filing yesterday that the two special-purpose companies will design, construct, own, operate and maintain a solar photovoltaic energy generating facility with the approved capacity at its proposed location.

TNB Bukit Selambau Solar will be operating a facility located in Kuala Muda, Kedah, with a 30MWac capacity, while RE Gebeng will be operating the 29.92MWac capacity facility in Kuantan, Pahang.

The scheduled commercial operation dates are Dec 31, 2020, for the Kedah facility and Feb 3, 2020, for the Pahang facility.

The PPAs cover the parties’ obligations to sell and purchase the energy generated by the facilities for a period of 21 years from the commercial operation date in accordance with the signed terms and conditions.
