Honor Malaysia has signed a partnership with Shopee to unveil the new Honor 9 Lite smartphone, which will be made available exclusive on the Shopee e-commerce platform.

Through the partnership, nine million Malaysian Shopee users can purchase Honor’s first quad-camera smartphone on Shopee Mall.

Honor is the latest brand to be featured on the shopping portal where more than 400 leading brands and official distributors are listed.

Shopee regional MD Ian Ho said Shopee is delighted to collaborate with Honor for the exclusive launch of the Honor 9 Lite as an increasing number of consumers are buying electronic products, particularly smartphones, online.

“In line with our 2018 plans, we are aiming to forge more strategic partnerships with established brands to start selling their products on our platform.

“Being a major e-commerce player in the region, we aim to assist more brands to expand their reach online and to further grow their businesses by tapping on a wider customer base,” Ho said.

He added that Shopee collaborates with Honor Malaysia because of the brand’s success in China’s online market.

“We hope that we will be able to learn what Honor has done there and adopt it here in Malaysia,” Ho said.

Honor Malaysia head George Zhao Zhiwei (picture) said the collaboration with Shopee is the first of its kind for the company.

“As a global leading smartphone e-brand, there is a lot of potential for us to partner Shopee, the leading e-commerce platform in South-East Asia and Taiwan.

“This partnership is the starting point for us as there are many other avenues, which we can collaborate on,” he said, adding that Malaysia’s online marketplace has room to grow.

Honor Malaysia will introduce its Lite series here after doing so in the European and Indian markets.

“By introducing the Honor 9 Lite here, we believe this would continue to strengthen our presence and commitment here in Malaysia,” Zhao said, adding that the Honor 9 Lite will be the perfect companion for selfie enthusiasts with its front dual-camera setup.

The Honor 9 Lite key feature is its dual-lens 13-megapixels (MP) + 2MP camera on the front and rear, which allows users to capture crystal clear and stunning images.

With its upgraded, customisable, in-depth beautification feature and hardware level bokeh effects, the Honor 9 Lite is the perfect device for any selfie enthusiasts.

It is powered by the Kirin 659 processor and equipped with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage (expandable up to 256GB).

It sports a 3,000mAh battery, which is able to provide users a day’s usage despite heavy use.

Through its partnership with Shopee, Honor’s first quad-camera smartphone will retail at RM699 on Shopee’s platform for a limited day on March 9, 2018.

The Honor 9 Lite will be available in either Sapphire Blue or Glacier Gray.
