The KLCI gained some ground in mid session trade today as Asian shares recovered after the US faces pressure to call-off its planned steel and aluminum tariffs.
At 12.30pm today, the benchmark FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) was up 5.82 to 1,848.44, trading between a low of 1,849.47 and a high of 1,845.77.
The index moved between 1,845.77 and 1,849.47 throughout the morning session after opening at 1,848.18.
The sentiment remained positive as gainers led losers 532 to 287 with 352 counters unchanged and 711 untraded.
Top gainers are led by Nestlé (M) Bhd, British American Tobacco (M) Bhd, Hengyuan Refining Company Bhd, Petron Malaysia Refining and Marketing Bhd, Bursa Malaysia Bhd and Muda Holdings Bhd.
Top losers are led by Dutch Lady Milk Industries Bhd, Petronas Dagangan Bhd, Panasonic Manufacturing (M) Bhd, Danainfra Nasional Bhd, Atlan Holdings Bhd, Rapid Synergy Bhd and Boustead Heavy Industries Corp Bhd.
