AmBank launches credit card campaign

AmBank (M) Bhd has launched its Win A Porsche campaign as the lender seeks to boost its credit card base.

Group CEO Datuk Sulaiman Mohd Tahir said the bank has 565,000 credit card holders as at Jan 2018.

Apart from rewarding our customers, the competition is in line with our strategy in growing our cardholders based and strengthen the usage of our cards.

The campaign is open to AmBank and AmBank Islamic Principal cardholders with the exception of debit, prepaid, corporate, commercial and insurance credit cardholders, he said at the launch in Kuala Lumpur today.

He added that the five-month long contest will allow cardholders to win a Porsche Macan and RM1,000 worth of cashback and various consolation prizes.

AmBank retail banking MD Jade Lee said the banks credit card application has registered more than 30% growth annually.

At the moment, our cardholders are increasing by 200,000 annually and we want to continue this momentum with campaigns that would benefit that segment.

“With the campaign, we expects at least 50,000 to 60,000 new cardholders and the spending will increase by 20%, she said, adding that the campaign runs from Dec 1, 2017 until April 30, 2018.

She added that the campaign has recorded 50,000 registrations and is expected to achieve 90,000 applications before the campaign ends.
