Around 32 completely built-up (CBU) units of Toyota C-HR 1.2 Turbo will be available in Malaysia as early as next month.

The SUVs will be brought in by an online used car platform, MyMotor (www.mymotor.com), backed by Malaysia’s leading e-government services provider, MyEG Services Bhd.

MyMotor GM Edward Tan Yu Tho said currently, the company has received five cars and another 15 cars will be available before the middle of next month.

“The model is an organic car that is originally designed (by the Japanese) for the Japanese domestic market.

“The model is equipped with Toyota Safety Sense P (TSSP) including pre-collision system, lane departure alert, radar cruise control and automatic high beam for both S-T and G-T (variants),” he said at the introduction of the models in Petaling Jaya yesterday.

He said the all-wheel drive SUV is also a turbocharged four-pot powered by an 8NR-FTS DOHC Cylinder 16 Valve Intercooler Turbo, transpiring 116hp and 185 Nm of torque.

“It means the car has no trouble speeding while maintaining its stability and performance,” he said.

Tan said although both the S-T and G-T variants come with almost similar specifications, there are several details that set the two apart.

The G-T variant, he said, comes with LED fog lamps, blind-spot monitor, front and rear parking assist sonar, fabric-leather combination seat covers and also 18-inch wheels compared to 17-inch wheels for the S-T variant.

Tan said pricing for the SUV starts from RM176,000 to RM185,000, depending on the specs, which is slightly higher than the proposed pricing in 2016 as it is a CBU model from the Japanese domestic market.

As for warranty and after-sales service, the company said hire-purchase customers are entitled to a one-year warranty or 20,000 miles (32,187km), whichever come first.
