PETRONAS Carigali Sdn Bhd has awarded work contracts to five local contractors to maintain, construct and modify services (MCM) at its offshore facilities in Peninsular Malaysia, Sabah and Sarawak.
Petronas Carigali, the upstream arm of national oil company Petroliam Nasional Bhd or Petronas, awarded the contracts to Carimin Engineering Services Sdn Bhd, Dayang Enterprise Sdn Bhd, Deleum Primera Sdn Bhd, Petra Resources Sdn Bhd and Sapura Fabrication Sdn Bhd and its joint-venture partner, Borneo Seaoffshore Engineering Sdn Bhd.
The contracts come with the option to extend for an additional year. No contract value was provided.
Meanwhile, UMW Oil & Gas Corp Bhd (UMW O&G), in a filing yesterday, noted it has been awarded a contract by Petronas Carigali for the provision of hydraulic workover units (HWU) to undertake workover services, which include services rendered in performing maintenance and, or remedial treatments on an oil or gas well. The contract commenced on Dec 22, 2017, and will last for three years with an option for a one-year extension.
The contract is an umbrella framework which provides an overarching contractual relationship which may comprise a series of individual orders and call-outs. The contract calls for the use of all or any of UMW O&G’s five HWU — namely UMW Gait 1, UMW Gait 2, UMW Gait 3, UMW Gait5andUMWGait6—to undertake workover services.
