Honda Malaysia Sdn Bhd opened its largest 3S centre in East Malaysia in its bid to strengthen the company’s footprint in the region.

The latest 3S centre, located in Miri, is Honda’s seventh centre in Sarawak, a result of its dealership collaboration with SYK RW Motor Sdn Bhd.

For the period of January to November 2017, sales in the region stood at more than 6,600 units, or about 7% of the overall sales of Honda Malaysia of more than 98,200 units.

The company said Sarawak contributed more than 4,000 units or 60% of the sales in East Malaysia, with BR-V being the most popular vehicle among Sarawakians.

“With the escalating customer base, there is an urgent need for Honda Malaysia to expand our dealership in order to serve these growing customers better by providing further convenience for them, including easy accessibility to Honda 3S Centres,” Honda Malaysia MD and CEO Toichi Ishiyama said in a statement yesterday.

“We would also like to reach more customers from different areas, especially those residing in satellite towns and districts, to enable them to experience the joy of buying.”

Ishiyama said SYK RW Motor had invested approximately RM7 million to set up the 48,000 sq ft service centre, which will be equipped with the latest equipment and various facilities.

“The Honda 3S Centre has 12 service bays — which include seven fast service, two general repairs, two tyre service and one air-conditioning service — which can accommodate up to 40 cars per day.

“Meanwhile, our customers can take advantage of the comfortable customer lounge, an executive lounge, as well as the complimentary WiFi service,” he said, adding that there is a children’s corner, a prayer room as well as a variety of food and beverages for its customers.

The service centre will also provide a complimentary car wash, as well as road tax and insurance renewal services for its customers.

Currently, Honda Malaysia has seven dealerships in Sarawak, which are located in Kuching (3), Bintulu (1), Miri (2) and Sibu (1).

“And as we press on towards 2018, we look forward to continue to work closely with our partners and provide better customer experience and achieve customer satisfaction,” Ishiyama added.
