MAHB launches campaign to boost online travel portal

FlyKLIA, an online travel portal under Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB), has launched a “My Passport to Brag” campaign, aimed at increasing customer awareness on using the portal to plan their trips.

The campaign is targeted at giving new and existing users of FlyKLIA the chance to win prizes, including airline tickets, vouchers and premium items.

FlyKLIA is an interactive experience-sharing portal aimed at enhancing airport users’ travel experience in Malaysia, by creating a platform for both business and leisure travellers to come together and share their experiences.

Positioned as a platform for travellers by travellers, users are able to write and read reviews of tourist destinations, learn tips and tricks while travelling, and look for places to visit or events to attend.

“We hope the campaign will increase the profile of the FlyKLIA website, as well as encourage users to use its itinerary-builder capability in creating their own unique travel itinerary,” MAHB GM of marketing Mohamed Sallauddin Mat Sah said in a statement yesterday.

He said more travellers are now searching for unique experiences and hidden gems that will create social media-worthy stories and photographs.

The portal acts as a tourist guide in assisting users in planning their travel itinerary to destinations within the country, while also providing recommended tourist destinations for business travellers on working trips to Malaysia.

Users may also book transportation and accommodation through the portal.

The prizes for the campaign include Malaysia Airlines Bhd flight tickets, Sama-Sama Hotel rooms, usage of KLIA (Kuala Lumpur International Airport) Premier Access — MAHB’s premiere airport lounge, shopping vouchers for Mitsui Outlet Park and Eraman, Express Rail Link one-way tickets and passport holders.

To participate in the threemonth campaign, users are encouraged to use FlyKLIA’s trip builder in planning their holidays, following which they should submit articles on their trips or any previous travel experiences.

These articles should then be shared on social media, and articles with the highest number of shares will be in the running to win airline tickets at the end of each month.

The first 500 participants can also redeem “Instant Gratification Rewards”, where users are required to complete certain steps on the website to win vouchers and passport holders.

The campaign went live yesterday and will run until March 6, 2018.
