Dr Khoo Kah Siang (picture), a senior management executive at Great Eastern Holdings Ltd, who had served a four-year term as deputy director of the Monetary Authority of Singapore, will be heading Manulife (Singapore) Pte Ltd. Irshad from Feb 9, pending regulatory approval, reported Singapore’s Business Times. He will join Manulife Asia’s executive committee and report to Anil Wadhwani, who has just assumed the role of president and CEO of Manulife Asia.
As the Canadian insurer’s new local chief, Khoo will oversee the operations in Singapore, including life insurance, wealth management and retirement-solutions businesses.
In the past, Khoo had also served as president of the Life Insurance Association of Singapore.
Among his previous designations were as the CEO of Great Eastern Life Assurance Co Ltd as well as chairman of Great Eastern Financial Advisors. — TMR
