RHB Islamic provides e-solutions to PBT Pengerang

RHB Islamic Bank Bhd has signed a strategic partnership with the Pengerang Local Authority (PBT Pengerang) to provide total e-solutions in managing its payment and collection services, allowing the latter to boost its capabilities to tap into new business opportunities.

In a statement, RHB Islamic said it is the first cashless solution provider for PBT Pengerang.

“Through this collaboration, RHB Islamic will be able to provide local businesses and vendors of Bandar Penawar simple, fast and seamless banking,” said RHB Islamic MD Datuk Adissadikin Ali.

In the same statement, PBT Pengerang president Bukhari Abd Rahman said the outfit strives hard to ensure taxpayers have access to all payment mediums, especially online payments.

“Our taxpayers do not have to come to our counters and queue to make payments. They should be able to do it from the comfort of their house or office,” he said.

Through this partnership, RHB Islamic will be providing Financial Chain Solutions to over 40 vendors within the PBT Pengerang community. The services include financial process exchange for business-to-consumer and business-to-business transactions; as well as salary remittance for employees, and in-house transactions for improved cashflow and corporate employee privilege scheme, where employees can enjoy preferential rates, rebates and privileges.

Prior to the collaboration, RHB Islamic’s partnership with PBT Pengerang includes initiatives for Reflex Cash Management, RHB Merchant Mobile Point of Sale and Card Terminal, JomPay, RHB Billers, hire purchase for vehicles and computer equipment, working capital and also the setup of a new RHB Bank branch in support of PBT Pengerang and its employees’ banking needs.

The partnership also sees Johor’s MSC Cyberport Sdn Bhd as the portal provider, currently hosting e-Khidmat portal for customers to apply business licences, checking assessment status, rental and compound.

In the same statement, MSC Cyberport CEO Ramlee Jaafar said its side, together with its “MSC” status incubator involving some financial technology initiatives, will contribute their solution and domain expertise in the collaboration.

It includes software engineering services in digital government, back-end accounting integration, big data analytics, Internet of Things, cyber security and technologies essential in any smart city development as envisioned by PBT Pengerang.
