Maxis Bhd announced its CEO Morten Lundal will leave the company upon contract expiry date March 31, 2018.
In an exchange filing last Friday, the telco noted its board will announce his replacement in due course.
“The board wishes to thank Lundal for his valuable contributions and services to the company,” the group said in its statement.
Under Lundal, Maxis netted its highest recorded profit in five years for its third quarter ended Sept 30, 2017, at RM554 million on record high demand for data.
Lundal was appointed as the company’s CEO on Oct 1, 2013.
He was previously Vodafone Group chief commercial officer in 2010 and was a regional CEO for eight operating companies in Central Europe and Africa.
Prior to that, he was DiGi.Com Bhd group CEO starting from 2004.
