Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd’s (MAHB) wholly owned subsidiary, MA eLogistics Sdn Bhd, is partnering Cainiao Smart Logistics Network (Hong Kong) Ltd (Cainiao HK) in a joint venture (JV) to develop a regional e-commerce and logistics hub.

The hub will comprise the development of cargo terminals, sorting centres, warehouses and fulfilment centres, and other facilities for the e-commerce industry.

It will be housed within the KLIA Aeropolis as part of the Digital Free Trade Zone (DFTZ) initiative.

MAHB told Bursa Malaysia last Friday the project forms part of the development of KLIA Aeropolis, and will act as a catalyst to spur growth and enhance the value proposition of the air cargo and logistics cluster.

The project will consist of a single phase development, built on a land area of 24.3ha.
