Telekom Malaysia Bhd (TM) has partnered edotco Malaysia Sdn Bhd to provide TM’s next-generation services to mobile operators for long-term evolution (LTE) services expansion.
Edotco Malaysia chief country officer Wan Zainal Adileen Wan Puteh said the collaboration marks the group’s milestone to innovate the telecommunications industry with a unique infrastructure.
“We are excited about synergising our skill sets and are looking to fiberise more sites in the next three years,” he said.
The partnership will see TM providing its Next Generation Backhaul services to mobile operators’ cell sites connectivity and their main network at edotco’s chosen areas’ ground- based tower sites.
The two companies will explore opportunities to provide the common infrastructure through Smart Centralised Radio Access Network (Smart Cran) services, which enable mobile operators to expand mobile coverage while utilising edotco’s strength in dense urban areas.
The collaboration is conditional to a definitive agreement that will be finalised within the next six months.
The signing was witnessed by TM group CEO Datuk Seri Mohammed Shazalli Ramly and edotco group chairman Datuk Azzat Kamaludin.
