Tropicana appoints Lim Wee Chai as deputy chairman

Property developer, Tropicana Corporation Berhad and its group of companies (“Tropicana” or “Group”) announced the appointment of Tan Sri Dr. Lim Wee Chai (“Tan Sri Dr. Lim”) as its Non-Independent Non-Executive Deputy Chairman, who is also the Executive Chairman of Top Glove Corporation Berhad (“Top Glove”), effective 24 October 2017.

Prior to joining Tropicana, Tan Sri Dr. Lim has snapped up an additional 8.5% stake in Tropicana, making him a substantial shareholder with approximately 10.24% shareholding in the Group. Additionally, Tropicana had on 2 October 2017, announced that Datuk Lim Thean Shiang (“Datuk TS Lim”) has been appointed as an Independent Non-Executive Director of Tropicana. Datuk TS Lim is also an Executive Director and Group Chief Executive Officer of Daya Materials Berhad since 2015. He has over 20 years of experience in property development and construction, which will be an invaluable contribution to the development of the Group.

As at 24 October 2017, Tropicana has a total land bank of over 1,000 acres across Malaysia.
