Dialog Axiata plc, a 83.32% Sri Lanka-based subsidiary of Axiata Group Bhd, has acquired by way of stock trade crossing on the Colombo Stock Exchange, a total of 37.37 mil-
lion shares of Colombo Trust Finance plc (CTF) from Cargills Bank Ltd.

The aforesaid shares represent 80.34% of the voting rights i n CTF and was acquired for RM29.48 million.

In a filing to Bursa Malaysia yesterday, Axiata noted the deal of CTF by Dialog will facilitate the expansion of the operations scope of Dialog into the sphere of mainstream digital financial services.

Dialog aims to bring together the realms of advanced digital connectivity and cutting edge financial technology to deliver a revolutionary suite of products and services, which will expand the vistas of financial inclusion in Sri Lanka.
