George Kent bags RM29m water meter contract in HK

George Kent Malaysia Bhd has secured a tender for the second time to supply and deliver 650,000 water meters to the Hong Kong’s (HK) Water Supplies Department (WSD).

The waterworks engineering solutions provider noted in a release yesterday that the contract was worth RM28.72 million and is the largest single order ever obtained from a sole source in its metering business history.

The bid was made via its subsidiary, George Kent International Pte Ltd. George Kent will supply the DN15 Brass PSM-T water meters to WSD over two years in 24 shipments.

To date, George Kent is the only company that has successfully secured large water meter contracts from Hong Kong and Singapore water authorities at the same time.

Last year, George Kent also secured a contract to supply 323,630 water meters to Public Utilities Board of Singapore.
