Wen Ken Group turns 80 and going strong

Wen Ken Group celebrates its 80 years of service as a family-owned group and one of the largest traditional Chinese medicine companies in South-East Asia this year.

“At Wen Ken, we want to create a sustainable business that is truly beneficial to society,” Wen Ken MD Fu Siang Jeen said in a recent statement.

The group was founded in 1937 and specialises in research and development (R&D), as well as production and marketing, of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), natural medicine, over-the-counter (OTC) drugs and health products, .

Besides South-East Asia, the overall reach of Wen Ken’s health products extends to parts of Middle East, Eastern Europe and South Asia. Wen

Ken’s products are distributed to about 20 countries around the world.

Currently, the group aspires to maintain its position in the frontline of medical advancement field.

“We place a strong emphasis on being at the forefront of medical advancement, and invest heavily in continuous R&D to produce TCM, OTC and health supplements products that can serve the community even better,” Fu added.

“Together with our modern facilities and lab equipment, we strive to ensure product safety, quality and efficacy for our consumers. Today, we are one of the TCM market leaders in Singapore and Malaysia, as well as other international markets.”

The company takes pride in the fact that most of Wen Ken’s products are developed by its own R&D department. The group also attributed its integrated business infrastructure as part of the reason why its market occupancy has remained stable.

It owns an ISO/IEC 17025 certified laboratory, MasterChem Laboratory Services Sdn Bhd, and has one of the largest Good Manufacturing Practice-certified manufacturing plants with licences to produce Chinese and herbal medicine, and pharmaceuticals products in South- East Asia, all developed by its own R&D department.

Along with its distinguished capabilities in R&D and manufacturing, Wen Ken also has established key marketing and distribution networks across the Asian continent.

The group also has companies facilitating marketing, distribution and wholesale services.
