Datuk Norazharuddin Abu Talib has been appointed as CEO of the Federation of Investment Managers Malaysia (FIMM) effective July 17, 2017. Prior to his appointment, Norazharuddin was the MD of Astra Partners Sdn Bhd.
Apart from his financial industry experience with Citibank NA, he also has over 16 years of private equity investment experience, including with South-East Asia Development Corp Bhd, Walden International Investment Group, Commonwealth Development Corp, PDX.com Sdn Bhd, Malaysia Venture Capital Management Bhd.
In September 2007, he set up Trupartners Sdn Bhd to provide venture capital and private equity management services. Norazharuddin graduated from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.
He holds a Master of Business Administration (Finance) from the same university. FIMM was established in 1993 to support the development of the investment management industry.
In January 2011, FIMM was recognised as a self-regulatory organisation (SRO) by the Securities Commission Malaysia.
As an SRO, FIMM regulates and supervises its members and registered persons to strive for the highest level of integrity and standards of practice that will best serve the investment management industry and promote investor protection.
