Honda’s new CR-V achieves 2 months sales target in a week

Honda Malaysia Sdn Bhd received 1,400 bookings for the fifth generation all- new CR-V within a week of its launch on July 12, equivalent to two months of its sales target set for the model.

The company had set a monthly sales target of 700 units for the new model, said Honda Malaysia.

“Of the four variants introduced for the all-new CR-V, the 1.5L Turbocharged Premium 2WD is the most popular, accounting for 40% of the bookings, followed by the 1.5L Turbocharged 2WD at 31%, the 2.0L i-VTEC (2WD) at 20% and 1.5L Turbocharged 4WD at 9%,” it said in a statement yesterday.

The carmaker said 80% of the bookings were for the turbocharged variants and the balance was for the non-turbocharged variant, adding that the ratio was proof of the maturing Malaysian market which valued technological advances.

“Despite the high demand for the all-new CR-V, Honda Malaysia is working hard to ensure that the waiting period for customers is maintained at the standard period of one to two months, without compromising on quality,” it said, adding that the company aimed to deliver the cars to its customers by September. — Bernama
