The Kampong Bharu Development Corp (PKB) is in the process of requesting for the government to grant an exemption of the estate management fee for landowners in Kampung Baru.
Its chairman Datuk Affendi Zahari said the fee for the land administrator’s order at 0.2% of the value of their estate is seen as burden- ing the owners, especially in cases involving several nominees to update the status of the estate.
“Many do not want to update the status of their estate because of the problem, so I’ve asked the Land Office to give special exemption to the residents of Kampung Baru.
“We are now in that direction, and it appears to be receiving positive feedback from the government,” he told Bernama.
Meanwhile, he said PKB, in cooperation with the Kuala Lumpur City Hall, is actively taking action against hawkers and traders who cause road obstruction in the Kampung Baru area.
He said reminders have been given since March, followed by action from June.
“Action will be intensified in heavily congested areas due to the haphazard business operations.
“So, the traders in Kampung Baru are reminded not to cause road obstruction to the public,” he said. — Bernama
