The DAP today declared that Pakatan Rakyat which groups the party, PKR and PAS is no more.
DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng said the decision of the PAS muktamar to sever ties with the DAP had “killed” the coalition.
The DAP central executive committee, at a meeting yesterday, was unanimous in regarding the Pakatan Rakyat as no longer existing.
“As Pakatan Rakyat was formed by the three parties based on consensus and bound by the Common Policy Framework, the PAS Muktamar’s motion effectively killed off Pakatan Rakyat. Pakatan Rakyat therefore ceases to exist,” Lim said in a statement today.
Pakatan Rakyat, a loose coalition, was formed on 1 April 2008 by the DAP, PAS and PKR after the 12th General Election.
