SUNWAY Hotels & Resorts, the hospitality division of Malaysian-based property-construction conglomerate Sunway Group, has appointed Castaldi “Alex” Rosario as GM for the Perak-based Banjaran Hotsprings Retreat.
Rosario brings with him 15 years of experience in the luxury hospitality industry, including stints at Dubai, Bali, Rome and Koh Samui.
He will be responsible for the overall operations and business growth at Malaysia’s first luxury wellness retreat, which opened its doors in January 2010.
Prior to this, Rosario was the area GM at the Kupu Kupu Resorts, managing a collection of luxury resorts in Seminyak, Jimbaran and Ubud in Bali and overseeing a villa retreat on the island of Koh Phangan in the Gulf of Thailand.
He also served as GM and executive GM (hotels division) for Thailand’s Kalara International Properties.
“Alex brings fresh perspectives in luxury operating philosophy and valuable insights to the Banjaran,” said Sunway Hotels & Resorts CEO Albert Cheong in a statement.
