KL shares slightly higher at mid-morning

Bursa Malaysia was slightly higher at mid-morning today, with the benchmark FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) up 5.8 points to 1,695.08 as at 11.22 am.

However, market breadth was slightly negative on profit-taking after earlier gains with losers outpacing gainers 375 to 316, while 271 counters were unchanged, 834 untraded and 33 others suspended.

Turnover stood at 1.21 billion shares worth RM969.14 million.

On the scoreboards, the FBM Emas Index gained 9.64 points to 11,665.85, the FBMT100 Index increased 12.05 points to 11,372.58, while the FBM Emas Shariah Index perked 28.32 points to 12,405.74.

The FBM 70 was down 73.52 points to 12,612.38 but the FBM Ace expanded 37.26 points to 5,816.31.

Sector-wise, the Industrial Index was 12.82 points lower at 3,327.11, the Plantation Index added 4.46 points to 7,450.19 and the Finance Index trimmed 53.46 points to 14,423.96.

For the heavyweights, Maybank added 3.0 sen to RM8.50, Public Bank rose 18 sen to RM18.44, Tenaga gained 8.0 sen to RM12.28 and Axiata surged 27 sen to RM6.27.

Among actives, KNM Group fell half-a-sen to 55 sen, China Automobile was flat at 14 sen and iDimension added half-a-sen to 11 sen.
